Located in Sobrado, on the border between the municipalities of Valongo and Paredes, Quinta das Arcas is the heart of the company. It houses the entire administrative structure, as well as the winery, storage facilities, and bottling line for wines produced by Quinta das Arcas and Herdade Penedo Gordo.
With approximately 60 hectares of vineyards, this property benefits from a very particular microclimate that allows for the production of high-quality grapes. The main grape varieties cultivated are Loureiro, Trajadura, and Arinto, mostly planted in vineyards that are around three decades old.

Quinta das Arcas has about 400 hectares of vineyard and all 100% in environmentally responsible IPM sistem.

Quinta da Gandra

Situated about 2 km from Quinta das Arcas, this property extends across the municipalities of Valongo and Paredes, covering an area of approximately 85 hectares.
With excellent west-facing sun exposure, its terraced vineyards descend to the banks of the Ferreira River, creating ideal conditions for the development of Loureiro, Arinto, and Alvarinho grape varieties.
The combination of exposure, soil, and proximity to the river contributes to the production of balanced, fresh, and aromatic wines.

Quinta das Arcas produces 7 different wine varieties. Each one is unique and reflects the characteristics of the grapes and the terroir

Quinta da Costa
Established in 2013, Quinta da Costa is also located in Sobrado, on the banks of the Ferreira River, and consists of 20 hectares of vineyards planted on a mid-slope with southern/western sun exposure.
The poor, schist soils give this vineyard’s terroir unique characteristics. The plantation was designed using modern techniques that allow full mechanization of viticultural operations, ensuring efficiency and consistency in production.
The property is dedicated exclusively to the Alvarinho grape variety, which had already shown excellent results under similar conditions at Quinta da Gandra.

From the 7 varieties produced in Quinta das Arcas 6 are portuguese

Quinta de Villar
Located in Galegos, in the municipality of Penafiel, Quinta de Villar has 30 hectares of hillside vineyards, benefiting from ideal conditions for producing high-quality wines.
The granite soil and microclimatic conditions particularly favor the red grape varieties Vinhão and Padeiro, which occupy most of the vineyard area, complemented by Arinto.
This estate borders the archaeological site of Monte Mozinho, an important hillfort settlement dating back to the 1st century AD, adding historical and cultural value to the surrounding landscape.

Other Vineyards
In addition to these main properties, wine production includes several plots and agricultural partnerships spread across the municipalities of Santo Tirso, Paredes, and Penafiel, contributing to a total of 220 hectares of vineyards in the Vinho Verde region.

Herdade Penedo Gordo
